Googly stars actor Yash as Sharath, actress Kriti Kharbanda as Swathi with Ananth Nag, Sudha Belawadi, Sadhu Kokila and Neenasam Ashwath in supporting roles. Googly released all over Karnataka on July 19, 2013 which is directed by Pawan Wadeyar and produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under the banner of Jayanna Combines, the story is written by Pawan Wadeyar himself. Googly is made with a budget of Rs 4 crores and its Satellite rights is sold for Rs 2 crores.
Googly was opened with packed houses all over as rocking star Yash has created many fans with his earlier hit movies. Googly made more than Rs 1 crore in first day of release and nearly Rs 3.5 crores in first weekend. Googly held audience tightly and goes well in weekdays also making Rs 7 crores in first week of release, huge for a Kannada film. Googly is running strongly, but the release of Kitty’s Tony and Vijay’s Jayammana Maga gave some competition for the movie, so the collections were reduced in third week. Googly collected around Rs 13 crores till third week and may rake another Rs 2 crore into its collection for lifetime.
